I bet some of you never thought this account would live again! :lol: I do come back to this account and see some of my better works here (which is sad cause they're sketches studies), and I get the urge to come back and try to post regularly the studies and exercises I tell you all I do. (And I do them, but not quite as frequently as I should be. :( ) So yes, keep an eye out for some updates! Rules are the same, I would really prefer only critiques on each deviation. If you do want to say something positive, at least say something you like about the picture, or something I may be gaining strength in. I don't need a bunch of empty 'Good Job

Hello. This is ~Skystalker (https://www.deviantart.com/skystalker) I have created this account for the purpose of recording, and displaying, my progress in the building blocks of art. Be it Anatomy, Perspective, Gesture, Landscapes, or small study sketches, I will be posting  those things here. This account is strictly for my learning, so know this; If you do watch or comment me, at least add SOME sort of helpful feedback. Whether it be something wrong with a picture, or something you think I should try. I will hide all comments that have none of these. Here's an example: --------------------------------------------- Good Deviant: Hey, this is alright! You could work a bi

Hello, I'ma watch your account. Maybe we can help each other out with some good critique; it's hard to find people who are willing to dish out honest criticism so I'll take anyone I can get.
Keep up the good work, if you keep at those studies and practice every day it'll really pay off.
The main thing I noticed is your work seems more on the "cartoony" side because of the hard lines - remember irl you seldom if ever see hard outlines on objects. It might help to sketch the image lightly, then fill it with shading/detailing instead of just outlining it harshly.

Second, the human face is complex. It might help to sketch the eyes, nose, and mouth in detail as separate drawings or just concentrate on each as if they're separate - drawing section by section (after outlining the overall pic of course) is easier than thinking of drawing one big picture.

Also get the proportions right. An image won't look right no matter the detail if a curve is out of place.

If you're aspiring to draw realistically then you'll need a good understanding in perspectives and lighting. Overall, it takes time and practice, and the worst thing is become discouraged by your own work.
Yeah...I've done cartoony stuff for so long, it's been horribly difficult to get out of. You know, the whole comfort zone bit. I'm trying to slip out of that though. I'll take what you said in mind about the lines. ^^;

The face...Especially when it's small, that also becomes difficult. I'm terrible with tiny details, but I'll remind myself to practice that as well. I also like the idea of treating each part of the face as an individual drawing. That may just help me a lot.

Thank you very much for the input. ^^ It means a lot to me, and I'm sure it'll help me a lot in the long run.
Hope to see some vast imrovement in your anatomy skills! Can't wait!
